Psiohematics

Pseudohuman blood has psionic abilities and draws power from the global psionic field. It has two forms, red and blue.
The blue is unanchored: power flows from in and out of it as the owner wills, transferring that energy into telekinetic abilities, moving themself or the world around them. Psionic signals pass freely through it, passing all information to the brain, which can direct its own signals back out to the minds of others, controlling or transmitting.
The red is anchored, self contained: power accumulates in it, only releasing through burning, not telekinesis. While this halts the free-flow of psionic signals and thus prevents telepathy, red blood is still highly psionically conductive, allowing the user's will to directly manipulate anything connected to their blood.


Forms of Intelligence[?]

Pseudohumans

While bearing a resemblence to real-world humans, Pseudohumans (or pseudos) differ in several characteristics, most notably in their horns and psiohematic abilities. The horns are a pair of psio-sensory organs closely tied to the nervous and circulatory system, which serve as the primary means by which pseudos recieve and transmit psionic signals.
Pseudos broadly divide into 2 types: red-blooded "Operators" and blue-blooded "Witches". These types are inhereted at birth, but can be transitioned between in a lengthy process.


Operators

The more common type of pseudo human, they have red blood which contains and conducts powerful psionic energy through itself. This allows Operators to power and control certain technologies when connected to their bloodstream, using robotics, computers, or sensors as if they were extensions of their own bodies. Most Operators wear a device called an interface, a contained system contantly connected to their circulatory system, which provides power and simplifies connections to other machines. While lacking any remote psionic abilities, if blood outside their body can physically connect to their circulatory system they can telekinetically control that blood, and pass telepathic signals from one body into another.


Witches

Less common than Operators, possessing blue blood which allows psionic energy to flow through it. This gives Witches the ability to channel psionic energy into telekinetic abilities, moving objects or even themselves in a sort of flight. The flow of psionics through their bodies also gives them telepathic abilities, sensing the thought and feelings of those around them in a relentless noise. With practice, Witches can direct their own psionic signals to others, transmitting information or controlling minds. Their psionic exposure also gives them glimpses, limited insight into the past, futures, and world around them.

Throne

Home of technological development, the largest single settlement in the known world. Throne is entrenched in Machine territory, inexplicably unbothered. An organisation dedicated to technological and material appropriation and research, known as the Bureau, operates out of there. They seek to live alongside the Machines, paracitising them without making themselves vulnerable.

Frontier

An organised and expansive people on the west continent. Frontier wages open conflict against the Machines, upholding their ever increasing borders.

Other Land Settlements

Various other settlements exist across the continents, from small farming communities to expansive trading hubs and factory towns. Many settlements in the east continent have a close connection to Throne, harbouring Bureau offices which bring in technology and resources, and provide protection against the Machines. In contrast, almost every settlement in the west continent considers itself a part of Frontier.

Ocean Platforms

Vast platforms anchored across the ocean, interlinked into communities. These peoples live primarily off of seaweed and nutrient rich algae, which they trade with outsiders. Due to the closed system nature of ocean platforms, they highly value reuse and recycling; everything from clothes to electronics is repaired and restored when possible.
Life on the ocean platforms is peaceful, far away from the reach of Machines or Echos. The archologies are advanced and expansive, begging the question of why or how they were originally constructed.
